Workshop: Printmaking

PROCEEDURE: WORKING WITH THE CREATIVE PROCESS

Using markers to draw and brayering techniques, students will create a mixed media cityscpe including a "window" that opens to show a figure or object inside. Some drawings will be beneath a thin layer of ink, other drawings on torn paper will be glued on top of the ink. Different effect will be explored. How do the colors mix? How does the position of collaged paper effect things? How do the ink and the drawing combine?

II. Expressing your ideas:

When you are ready to express your own idea, thnk about what main shapes you will need, what will be printed, layered, drawn, and where shapes will be placed in relation to each other.
